The Living Image is a blog dedicated to tracing the legacy of photojournalism's most iconic shots, though people's tributes, remakes and derivative works.
I am desperately in love with photojournalism, all of it, current and past, being - at times - lucky enough to feel myself a part of it. I first thought of opening the blog after studying the rich afterlife of famous pictures: just how many times have we seen the Afghan Girl outside the familiar NatGeo's yellow frame? And did you know that an autographed version of the Kiss in Times Square was once authenticated to be sold as memorabilia?
I will scan the www looking for these examples of the lingering and evocative power of the pictures that made history, with an amused and affectionate look. If you're on Tumblr, come say hi.
